    Criticism makes us better, granted there's quite a large difference between your model and Reel Steal, That was just an example to show real looking CG
    If you are serious about getting better then its useful to have people with experience comment on your work. Areas I feel need improving are, textures, areas are stretched and dirty looking. better shaders/materials to me he looks like soft fabric, not hard metal or plastic. The lighting is pretty good.

    I respect your criticism, everyone's entitled to their opinion, professional or not. I'm honored that someone with 10 years in the game industry views my videos at all. However, I don't see why someone as experienced as you need to go on youtube to advocate films like Real SteEl, arguing over whether a personal CG lighting test is realistic or not...

    Watch the film Real Steal, the robots in that film look real. This by comparison does not at all look real. It looks like a poor character from computer game. Having worked in the computer games industry for 10 years as an artist I know what I'm talking about.

    I'm totally serious. I wouldn't say its crazy, I'd say its average in terms of quality for CG work. It has the feel of a plastic toy that has melted. Its got a long way to go before it looks real.
